If the gift is a surprise, you can present the portrait experience before choosing the exact coastal setting. Share the date of the celebration and any separate finished-artwork deadline. We will confirm the sequence that is practical without making the weather or the delivery date part of an unverified promise.
You can wear your own gown, obtain one, request session-gown sourcing by arrangement, or choose other formal attire. Fit, availability, and any sourcing cost are confirmed before you reserve.

Carmel River State Beach offers a starting point for thinking about open water and a quieter landscape composition. The exact portrait area is chosen only after access and production review. A privately arranged architectural setting offers an alternative if your room calls for stronger lines or a more sheltered approach.
A coastal session is planned around the actual working area, not simply the name of a beach. We discuss sand, footwear, wind, gown movement, and comfortable access. Monterey and Carmel are the service area; locations farther along the coast require their own review rather than being assumed part of the same session.

Choose the Masterpiece finish to make your gift a hand-embellished canvas. Digital painting, acrylic texture, and hand-applied color bring qualifying artwork sizes into their finished form. Classic photographic artwork is also available.

Planning your commission.
Monterey, Carmel, and surrounding coastal communities
Your current home and the portrait setting are considered separately. One selected location is confirmed after access, production, wardrobe, and timing have been reviewed.
Tell us when you want to present the gift and, separately, whether you need the completed artwork by a particular date. No deadline is promised before review.
Must we choose a beach?
No. A coastal landscape is one direction. We can consider a suitable architectural setting by arrangement when it better supports the artwork and your comfort.
Can we add a Big Sur location?
A farther coastal location needs its own production review. The starting commission remains one concept in one agreed location, with unusual travel or access quoted before a deposit.
Can the artwork work in a quiet, neutral room?
Yes. The room's palette and proportions are part of the design consultation. We consider the composition, artistic refinement, frame, and size together.
